Two Churches are now One

An interim pastor has been hired to lead the members of this new church creation. Presbytery has approved the sale of the two buildings. The building at Norwood Park, in Chicago, has been sold to a Buddhist group that will use it for religious enrichment. The sale of the building that had housed the St. Andrew congregation has also occurred and church memoribilia as well as useful "stuff" is being sorted, saved and/or given new homes. Where will the people meet to worship after their six month option to continue worship at the old location expires? Yet to be determined, but they've stepped out in faith thus far and believe that the Lord has a bigger plan for them and will provide.
Our hope is that the 5 churches of the NorthWest Fellowship of Presbyterian Churches will continue to share in worship and social events enjoying the bonds of friendship and love that have been formed throughout the transformation process of the melding of the congregations of St. Andrew and Norwood Park. Gathering for Lenten Services on Wednesday evenings prior to the Easter holiday has been a joint effort the last couple of years and will be our opportunity to worship together and join in intentional prayer.
Friendship Church offers a musical program "Friday Night Love Songs" at the Norwood Park Train Station on Northwest Hwy. on a regular basis. The next one is April 16 featuring Kent Rose, a previous performer at this venue. Start time is 7:30 pm. A free will offering is taken up to benefit a charity...Night Ministry , Appalachian Service Project, Haiti recovery efforts, etc. Come for the music! Come for the food (available for purchase through the Northwest Cafe)! Come for the fellowship! Come! Contact Ralph Intagliata for more info at 847-778-1066.
May we all feel the strength of God's love and peace as we continue to commune and be in fellowship with one another.
